Heatbit has unveiled Bitwater, a water heater that mines Bitcoin while using the heat generated by mining to warm water. The product applies the company’s heat-reuse concept to a household appliance, aiming to offset some of the energy cost of Bitcoin mining by making its heat useful. Its economic value will depend on mining revenue, electricity prices and the unit’s upfront and operating costs.
